Green Living Information – Fact Or Fiction?

Because green living is a relatively new concept, there are several myths that prevail about what precisely it involves. Green living is so much more than simply buying a fuel efficient vehicle or buying organic produce. Now’s the perfect time to straighten out things about green living misconceptions. It is a misconception that planting a few more trees will diminish global warming. This is not true when we talk about places with a colder climate. When it comes to northerly areas of the planet, planting more trees causes the earth to become warmer. To make planting trees a benefit, then you must plant them in urbanized areas. This will do a great deal of good as the trees purify the air of automobile fumes.

Another myth says the we can improve the earth by replacing all plastic bags with paper bags. The fact is that neither is beneficial when we discuss carbon emissions. When producing and throwing away these bags, carbon emissions are caused by both types. While paper is not the best alternative, bags made of plastic are a total disaster. The ideal option is to purchase reusable bags that can be used many times. Bags constructed from cloth material are the most pragmatic of the reusable bags.

Still another myth you may hear is that if you have the option, you should drive rather than travel by plane to your location. Driving a car is better than getting on an airplane pretty much only if you have a fuel efficient car. A better option is to drive less frequently, and carpool more. Finding ways to reduce how many miles all of the earth’s citizens drive globally is a great way to help the planet. Another one of the myths about living green is that you should buy your food locally. What is essential in getting any food comes down to the manner by which it is produced. A food has to be organically grown to be viewed genuinely green. Foods produced locally are not necessarily grown using organic methods. It doesn’t matter if you farm the food yourself or buy it at the store; the way that it is grown determines how green it is.

The last myth is that electric powered cars are eco-friendly. Too much CO2 gas is produced by these electric-powered cars. Electric automobiles will be great for the environment when the electricity is produced by renewable sources. Most of the myths surrounding green living are merely myths because they don’t take the whole story into consideration.

Green living is an important way to live life. Green living is most effective when you do it right. Don’t waste your time and money doing things to help the earth when they don’t really work.

You will know about the issues of pollution and global warming caused by humans, after all it’s frequently brought up in the news. Some of you may feel obligated to do something but you may not know what to do or where to begin. Well, you don’t have to go out saving whales or putting out forest fires to assist, you just need to simply follow a couple of easy tips to make a difference! Here are some ways in which you can help out.

1. If possible, use your laptop or netbook, not a desktop PC. Virtually all people use computers today for a number of reasons. If you can use a laptop instead of a regular desktop computer then do so, since laptops are up to 50% more energy efficient compared to standard desktop PCs. In addition, never mind being cheaper, laptops are light and compact and can be taken along to nearly all places you go to.

2. Walk rather than drive Vehicles and pollution are go together in my mind. The burning of petrol makes a car run, but a byproduct is carbon dioxide and other deadly fumes emitted into the atmosphere. Automobiles are used all over the world each and every day, so overall they release a lot of gases that are detrimental to the environment. If we all made a point of walking instead of going by car just once a day, we’d make a great change for the better. There are occasions when walking is just not practical, but, when it is, walk! Any brief trips by car can perhaps be replaced by walking without any real consequence. Walking can clear up your head, wonderful for your health as well as that of the earth, and save you some money to boot.

3. Close the faucet as you brush your teeth A great amount of water is wasted every day, merely because we’re so used to to having running water. Try not to water the next time you brush your teeth, don’t leave the water running. It’s a considerable volume of water that is running out of the faucet in the two minutes of recommended brushing time. Prepare for brushing and save water by putting just enough for rinsing in a glass ahead of time.

4. Showering uses less water Taking a shower utilizes less energy and water than taking a bath, so choose to shower. Nonetheless, this doesn’t hold true if your showers are 20 minutes long! Make sure you shower fast otherwise you will be wasting water!

5. Don’t forget to switch off the lights If you are going out of a room, try not to leave the light switched on. If a room doesn’t have anyone in it, what is the use of leaving a light turned on? You’ll save energy this way, which will save you some money and help the earth. When there’s sunlight outside, avoid using inside lights as the sunlight will provide plenty of light to your house.

These tips are very quick to do and won’t cost you anything to implement. In fact, they’ll likely save you money. So heed the invitation – begin living green.
