How To Make Solar Panel Blueprint

In this article I will give you a clear blueprint of all the steps involved if you want to learn how to make solar panel technology at home. But let’s first clarify what a solar panel actually is.
A solar panel – a quick introduction
A solar panel is nothing more than a box. Inside the box there are 36 solar cells. Electricity is being produced by these solar cells. The photovoltaic effect is what produces electrical energy. The job of the box is to protect the solar cells from any potential damage.
To generate a strong enough current all 36 solar cells have to be wired together in a serial structure.
Obviously, the solar cells require sunlight to generate electricity. That is the reason why the box must have a plexi-glass or glass sheet on one side.
The energy produced by the panel can only be passed on to a battery, for example, if the panel has a plug.
With a diode the solar panel can be prevented from draining the battery when the sun is not shining.
To discover more insider tricks and tips to making your own solar panel see my Green DIY Energy Review.
How to make solar panel technology in 4 simple steps:
Step 1: You have to acquire 36 solar cells (as they can break easily I recommend you buy some spare ones)
. However, removing the wax is quite difficult. Therefore, I recommend you buy solar cells that are not in wax. It is normal for small chips to occur during transportation. This does not normally effect the functionality of the cells.
Furthermore, I recommend you buy solar cells that have already got some metal tabs soldered on. If you buy cells without those tabs you have to solder them on yourself.
Step 2: Building the box
The box has to be big enough to accommodate all 36 solar cells. To keep the panel compact I recommend you use 4 rows with 9 cells in each row.
To protect the panel from moisture it needs to be coated with paint inside and out.
Also drill some extra holes for moisture to evaporate.
Step 3: Simply wire the cells together and fix them into position. Add a plug and a diode.
Step 4: Finally, a sheet of plexi-glass can be placed over the solar cells.
Finally, you have to test your panel to ensure it is working nicely before you install it.
That is all there is to it. To learn how to make solar panel technology for a fraction of the cost all you need is a good instruction manual.
